As a Senior Occupational Health Leader, you will provide and assist with strategic direction, clinical expertise, and innovative solutions to elevate the standard of occupational health services. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the clinic’s offerings to deliver exceptional value to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to position the
  • Cognate Clinic as a centre of excellence in occupational health
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align clinic initiatives with the organisation’s overall business objectives
  • Identify and capitalise on emerging trends, market opportunities, and best practices to drive continuous improvement
  • Embrace organisational change initiatives and empower others to deliver on them
  • Provide clear direction to staff on how goals and changes align with the organisation’s strategy
Clinical Expertise and Innovation
  • Serve as the subject matter expert, providing guidance and thought leadership on complex occupational health matters
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of innovative clinical programs and services
  • Ensure the clinic operates within approved clinical and management frameworks, adopting industry-leading practices
  • Conduct occupational health medical examinations, medical surveillance and monitoring of employees exposed to hazardous conditions.
Stakeholder Management and Representation
  • Act as the public face of the Cognate Health Clinic, representing the organisation to key stakeholders, partners, and regulatory bodies
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, industry associations, and the broader healthcare community
  • Champion best practices and advocate for the advancement of occupational health standards.
Team Development and Governance
  • With senior colleagues provide mentorship and guidance to the Cognate Health clinical team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning
  • Oversee clinical governance, including participation in audits, risk assessments, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant occupational health regulations and standards
  • Structure and maintain a learning environment for staff, ensuring they are trained on new policies and procedures
  • Gather feedback from staff to continuously improve teaching methods and drive change

Qualifications:
  • Inclusion or eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register in Occupational Medicine compiled by the Medical Council of Ireland
  • Proven track record of successful leadership and strategic management in a senior occupational health role
  • Exceptional clinical knowledge and the ability to apply it across a broad spectrum of occupational health practice
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment law, health and safety legislation, clinical governance, and audit practices
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and networking skills
  • Passion for driving innovation and delivering exceptional occupational health services
