Q: Who contacts the employee? (new companies)
A: Generally referrals are made by the line manager or HR department.
Q: Can a company request a phone call with the OHP(Occupational Health Physician) before/after the assessment?
A: Yes. This is possible by arrangement. It is important to note this on the referral form.
Q: Where is the nearest female doctor located?
A: We have female doctors located throughout the country, please see the list of doctors on our website page (redirect link).
Q: What is the process for physiotherapy / counselling as recommended by the OHP?
A: We have arrangements with physiotherapists and counsellors and can organise these referrals on request.
Q: Can a company book ergonomic assessments though Cognate Health?
A: Yes, we can organise these as we work with specialist ergonomic providers.
Q: Can OHP/OHN attend onsite for vaccines?
A: Yes, this can be arranged. We would be happy to quote you for this, so please contact us. Contact details can be found here (redirect link)
Q: How does manager know when to book follow-up vaccines?
A: We will indicate this on the report from the first vaccine, and if you wish we would be happy to organise that appointment with your instructions.
Q: How does the employee get a copy of their report?
A: We have a process for this, where the employee fills out a data access request (insert link)Â .

Q: How long does a company have to wait for an appointment?
A: It depends on how quickly you want the person seen. We can facilitate urgent appointments or typically have someone seen within 48 hours.
Q: Can a company book a provisional appointment or get a selection of available dates?
A: This is possible, but if the appointment isn’t cancelled then a charge will apply. (Insert link to cancellation rules).
Q: Can a company get confirmation of an appointment by letter?
A: We confirm all of our appointments by email.
Q: How long does a typical assessment appointment take?
A: Typically 30 to 45 minutes, though some more complex appointments may take longer.
Q: Can an employee bring a family member to the appointment?
A: If they feel the need for extra support, then this is possible.

Reports:
Q: Did the employee attend their appointment?
A: Yes, you will be notified if the employee fails to attend the appointment.
Q: When can I expect the report?
A: We endeavor to deliver our reports back to you within 2-3 working days following the appointment. Some reports may take longer, for example, if we need to obtain further reports from other practitioners or are awaiting blood test results to allow us to obtain a more accurate picture of the situation.
Q: Need clarification on report eg. is the employee fit to work?

Q: Is the recommended follow up appointment booked for employee directly at clinic?
A: We will do this, if this is what you prefer. Some employers want this, some employers do not.
