It has become increasingly apparent that clients want more than just service provision. They want tailored solutions to their specific problems delivered in a timely, efficient and effective manner.

Dr John Gallagher established Employment Health Advisors Limited (EHA) in 1993 and it grew to become one of the largest occupational health providers in Ireland. In the late 1990s, John led a joint venture with Mid West Occupational Health to create Corporate Health Ireland and EHA subsequently acquired Mid West Occupational Health, renaming the business ‘Employment Health Advisers Limerick’. In 2015, Dr John Gallagher and his team began the launch of Cognate Health.

 

Cognate Health represents a new national network of quality, approved occupational health physicians. As occupational health has evolved, so has the way we do business. Many companies now require a partner that has nationwide presence to provide solutions that enhance the physical, mental and social well-being of their workforce. Cognate Health will provide a network of carefully chosen, quality approved occupational health physicians located all over Ireland to better deliver tailored occupational health solutions to clients.

Service

In order to provide a national occupational health service and bring occupational health service provision closer to our clients, Cognate Health has developed a network of occupational health physicians (OHPs). Our clients can rely on a central administration team, a Head of Client Relationships and a Quality Manager. As part of our service level agreement with clients, we undertake full responsibility for occupational health related services between Cognate Health and our clients and this agreement is extended to our network of occupational health physicians. For the client, this ensures that the performance and the quality of every service is being consistently met and managed accordingly in a timely manner. As part of Cognate Health’s National OHP Network, our clients will belong to a network of providers allowing for prompt scheduling of referrals from one point of contact. Our aim is to simplify our contact with clients so that instead of being directed to various points of contact to make appointments, obtain reports and manage accounts, you will have a single point of contact. This is how we value service.

Cognate Health has implemented an NSAI certified ISO 9001 Quality Management System which is the industry standard in quality management systems. Our approach to occupational health delivers quality managed solutions that defines the Cognate Health vision.

CHOSEN CHARITY

As Occupational Health Physicians, we believe that providing our medical skills, experience and knowledge on a pro bono or reduced fees basis is central to how we can make a difference in the community. Cork Simon is a registered charity that works in solidarity with men and women who are homeless in Cork, offering housing and support in their journey back to independent living.
